Strength training webinar

WCPT Governance Review Expert Working Group
Following the call to member organisations earlier this year, the WCPT Executive Board has approved the following members of the WCPT Governance Review Expert Working Group (GR-EWG):
  • Janet Bezner (USA)
  • Nozomi Chiwaki  (Japan)
  • Jo Hampton (UK)
  • Karen Langvad (Sweden)
  • Jean Damascene (Rwanda)
  • Roland Craps (Belgium)
  • Karim Alvis Gomez (Colombia)
Margaret Grant has also been appointed by the Board to work with the group as a consultant.

The GR-EWG will support and guide the project to review the governance of WCPT.  
WCPT Awards: call for awards committee
This week a call for nominations for membership of the Awards Committee for the WCPT Awards programme has been issued to all WCPT member organisations.

If you are interested in submitting an application please visit www.wcpt.org/awards to view the terms of reference and download an application form. Applications can be submitted by individuals who are in good standing with their WCPT member organisation, in addition those member organisations must be in good standing with WCPT.

The purpose of the Awards Committee is to oversee the awards programme, review the nominations received and make recommendations to the WCPT Executive Board as to the recipients. The awards will be presented at the time of the WCPT General Meeting and Congress in 2019.
International conference on health professional regulation
The fifth World Health Professions Regulation Conference is scheduled to take place immediately before the World Health Organization’s World Health Assembly in Geneva on 19-20 May 2018. It will provide participants with insights, perspectives and discussion on current challenges in health professional regulation.
Key speakers will explore the lessons learned from competence-based approaches to regulation, compare regulatory models and examine ways of promoting best practice in regulatory governance and performance.

The 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health
Registration and the call for abstracts is now open for the 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health, taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 10th - 12th April 2018.

The conference aims to increase the knowledge of mental health issues and the connection between mental and physical health among physical therapists around the world.
