Celebrate World Physical Therapy Day 2017!
World Physical Therapy Day 2017 is now just over one week away. If you haven't yet planned your activities, here are some last minute ideas. For more last minute ideas take a look at the activities that took place to celebrate the day last year: www.wcpt.org/wptday16.
Access the World Physical Therapy Day toolkit at: www.wcpt.org/wptday-toolkit.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have translated materials, enabling much of the toolkit to be available for download in Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Slovenian and Spanish.

Good luck with all your activities and we look forward to receiving your photos and brief reports (send to info@wcpt.org).
New publication on dementia
With dementia one of the greatest global challenges for health and social care in the 21st century, The Lancet has published a Commission: Dementia prevention, intervention, and care. An infographic and podcast have also been published alongside the Commission. It aims to review the best available evidence and produce recommendations on how to best manage, or even prevent, the dementia epidemic.

The Commission is freely accessible with registration on its website (also free of charge): http://bit.ly/2xuwdFB.
New neck pain online course
WCPT partner, Physiopedia, is offering a new online course on neck pain. The course aims to provide a foundation of theoretical knowledge related to management of cervical spine pain that will enable physical therapists to effectively assess and treat individuals with neck pain. Find out more at: http://bit.ly/2xum9MX

The course is available to all Physiopedia Plus members. Members of certain organisations get free access to Physiopedia Plus as a benefit - if you are a member of your professional organisation in Canada, South Africa, Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, Romania, Malta, Nepal or Zimbabwe please contact your national association to find out how you can get free access.

Scam alert
WCPT has been made aware of several scam email invitations targeting physical therapists and WCPT member organisations.

The email may be worded as follows:

INVITATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN MENTORING AND TRAINING FOR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), an arm of the United Nations in collaboration with the World Bank is organizing a 3-Day Mentoring and Training for Physiotherapists in 50 countries of the world. This training is fully sponsored by MIGA and the World Bank.

These then request payment to support the training offered in return for a stipend payment. Member organisations and physical therapists are advised to ignore these or if in doubt contact WCPT info@wcpt.org.
The 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health
